The Haines and Mussone families welcome you to Back Home Bagels!
For us, it all began making bagels and sandwiches over 15 years ago in this very same location. Chef Josh Haines grew up right down the road in Orefield. His first job in the food industry was right here in Schnecksville, learning to make great bagels and sandwiches. Now, after completing culinary school and working the better part of a decade in the best kitchens around the country and in the Berks County area (including being named 2017 Wilson Iron Chef) we are ‘back home’ in Schnecksville where it all began.

Back Home Bagels is a family owned and operated small business. Chefs Josh and Rachel Haines, together with their parents, Frank and Johanna Mussone, all have shared a dream of having their own restaurant where friends and family can come together to enjoy great food. For years it was just that- a dream.
When this location became available in 2017, the chance to come ‘back home’ and continue where it all started was an opportunity we could not let pass us by. We’ve teamed up to bring the Lehigh Valley the best bagels, bagel sandwiches, bakery items, catering and service in the area.

Chef Josh Haines, along with his wife, Pastry Chef Rachel Haines are ready to put their skills to work here at Back Home Bagels. Maintaining a high standard of freshness and flavor is our passion. We use only the finest ingredients. The drive to be one-of-a-kind begins with making our own bagels and breads from scratch daily. Our sandwiches are always grilled and freshly prepared.
